We offer a variety of classes at The Twisted Bead & Rock Shop. Below is a list of our weaving classes, which are perfect for beginners and skilled jewelry-makers alike. Basic Kumihimo Braiding
Students will learn this fun and easy Japanese braiding technique using silk, rat-tail, or yarn.
Once familiar with the process, you may choose to incorporate seed beads. We will explore different options for finishing your piece and how to incorporate charms or a pendant. Take advantage of this quick and versatile technique to add to your skill set.
Recommended age is 8+ years. Please plan to arrive prior to class start time to select your materials.
Class fee: $20 + materials of your choice.

Have you ever wanted to add a little something extra to your Kumihimo braiding?
In this class, students will learn how to add beads to their Kumihimo braid using S-LON beading cord and size 8 seed beads. Once you get this basic bracelet done you can incorporate many different types of beads into future projects. You will need to select your materials prior to the day of class.
Pre-requisite: Basic Kumihimo Braiding Students must arrive at class with their strands pre-loaded with beads; class time does not include stringing.
Build on your Kumihimo with beads technique and use up some of your leftover beads. Choose a color scheme, bring a selection of beads to this class and you will learn to set up your disc and start your bracelet. Bead suggestions include drops, daggers, 4-6mm gemstones, pips, magatamas and more.
This class is for experienced Kumihimo braiders. You must have experience with Kumihimo using beads.
Class fee: $35

Peyote Stitch SuperDuo Bracelet
Using the Peyote stitch with Superduo seed beads is fun and easy! Students will need size 11 seed beads, Superduo beads, and your choice of clasp.
Class time is for one single wrap bracelet. You are welcome to do a longer piece but, you will bring it home to finish.
If you are a stitching fan of Jill Wiseman, you will know that Carrier Beads are “all the rage” right now. In this bead weaving class you will learn how to make the peyote stitch strips to cover the carrier beads. You will learn how to read a chart and maybe even create your own design! General knowledge of peyote stitch is required.
Thank you to Deb Roberti for allowing us to teach her DiamonDuo Star design. Select from our new Gem Duo beads and create this fun pendant, earrings or holiday decoration. Some stitching experience is helpful.
Students will learn this ancient and versatile stitch while creating an attractive bracelet. Also known as the gourd stitch, Peyote may be worked with either an even or an odd number of beads per row. This stitch can be made into flat strips, tubes, or flat round shapes, and to create jewelry, bags, images, and other decorative elements.
